On behalf of Sunny Point Fire & Emergency Services, we would like to invite you to attend services honoring Chief Michael L. Scott, to be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Southport Fire Department. The ceremony will include Firefighter and U.S. Army Honors in recognition of his dedicated Military and Fire Service.

Chief Scott proudly served as a U.S. Army Firefighter from 1997 to 2001. Following his military career, he rose through the ranks of Department of Defense Fire Services, becoming Fire Chief at Fort McPherson / Fort Gillem at the age of 36 making him one of the youngest Fire Chiefs in DOD history.
In 2011, he continued his leadership as Fire Chief at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point. Beyond his professional achievements, Chief Scott was extremely involved in the community, especially through his work with Boy Scout Troop 102, where he was a founding member and Assistant Scoutmaster.
Chief Scott is survived by his loving wife, Alicia Scott, his son Jackson Scott, his Father Louis J. Scott and wife Melissa Scott, his mother Shirely Scott, his brother Jerry Scott, and his sisters Tammy Ward (and husband Dennis) and McKenzie Scott.
Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.peacocknewnamwhite.com.
We hope you will join us in celebrating the life, service, and legacy of a remarkable leader and beloved community member.
