Firefighter Taylor had responded to an electrical short fire call early Friday morning, 11/14/2008. She returned to the station and at 08:00AM, 11/14/2008, she finished her tour of duty and returned home. She was found later Friday night deceased from an apparent heart attack.

A volunteer firefighter with the Arrington Volunteer Fire Department died while trapped in a warehouse fire outside Goldsboro on Nov. 6, 1998. Blizzard was also a career firefighter with the Goldsboro Fire Department.
