On Friday, February 16, 1917, two fire trucks from Station No. 1 of the Charlotte Fire Department and a truck from the Dilworth fire station responded to a fire call. The Station No. 1 trucks left their base that was located in the rear of City Hall on Fifth Street. They went down South Tryon Street then turned left onto Park Avenue.
