Captain Copeland and his engine company were participating in a multi-company live structural fire training exercise. Captain Copeland’s engine was to act as the first unit on the scene of the exercise.,Capt Wayne Copeland died of a heart atttack at a live fire training exercise. He had just stepped off the apparatus to command the incident when he collapsed.
