Ferrell D Hood
Ferrell was a career firefighter with the City of Fayetteville and also Chief of Westarea Volunteer Fire Department.<br><br> Ferrell made the ultimate sacrifice when he answered a call on November 15, 1986. A car had overturned and people were trapped inside. A cable snapped while the car was being secured and it hit an electric wire which electrocuted Ferrell. He left behind a wife and 3 young children.
Steve E Russell Jr.
Steven “Buddy” Russel, Buddy died of injuries received when a tree fell hitting him while on a woods fire. Buddy was also a City of Fayetteville Career FF.
David C Sharp II
David died when the Ladder Truck he was driving while returning from a call was struck by a Train. David was also a Volunteer in Moore County.
Jesse U Shockley Jr.
Jessie Shockley while training on a Ladder Truck, complained of not feeling well and collasped. Jessie was also a volunteer FF.
John C Tyner Sr.
Gray’s Creek VFD #18 – Carl was a Volunteer and collasped while fighting a woods fire.
